Mary Christo

Physiotherapist

David graduated in Adelaide in 1997, and immediately left for Geelong

having been drafted by the Geelong Football Club following a very successful

career in football in SA. David was captain of the South Aust Teal cup team and

played in the SANFL for Woodville West Torrens whilst he was

studying physiotherapy in Adelaide.

 

In Geelong, David managed to juggle a career in football and working as a

physio at the Corio Base Sports Injury Clinic. A severe hip and knee injury

saw an end to his football career and David then moved to Darwin where he

worked as a physio in private practice.

Mary graduated in Adelaide in 1975 and worked initially as a physiotherapist at the QEH and has since been working in the Grange area for more than 30 years.

 

Whilst at the QEH, she learned dry needling/acupuncture from the head of the Physical Medicine Department, Dr Bunt Burnell.  With more than three decades of experience, Mary practices all aspects of physiotherapy, including dry needling and acupuncture.  She also remains committed to continuing education in both physio and acupuncture.

 

Mary is highly regarded for her strong patient focus and is committed to tailoring treatments to suit individual patient needs.  Mary's enthusiasm,

energy and experience contribute to her patient's treatment success. Each patient leaves the treatment session with a positive and often lifestyle-changing experience.

 

Mary also works part-time as a babysitting, dedicated granny!  When she isn’t at work you might find her at a park or shopping for toys with one of her 10 grandchildren.  Her favourite past times include walking, playing bridge, enjoying the company and activities at her club, socialising in general, and wine appreciation in particular. Mary has enjoyed glass-blowing at the Jam Factory and you can see some of her finished product in the practice.

Roger Brown

General Manager

Roger has been General Manager of Physio at Grange for many years.

 

He manages the Physio's overall business operation, including financial management, administration, and business development.

 

David returned to SA in 2000 and has been a strong part of Physio at Grange ever since. He has a keen interest in all sport and sporting injuries including but not limited to those associated with dance, soccer, football, netball, basketball, and tennis. David's calm and methodical manner and 'hands on' approach makes each treatment session extremely rewarding.

 

David can often be seen early morning walking around Grange with a coffee in hand. Much time is spent with his twin boys, Marco and Samuel, and their insatiable appetite for sport together with youngest son, Alexander, who is not far behind.

Wendy graduated in Adelaide in 1983 and worked initially at Port Pirie Hospital until she opened her own private practice in 1984 - the Port Pirie Sports Medicine Clinic. She closed the practice in 2002 when she moved to Wallaroo Hospital as Senior Physiotherapist where she spent 11 years. In recent years she has moved to Adelaide and worked for Physio@Grange and Wellness & Lifestyles.

 

Wendy has a Masters of Physiotherapy (rural and remote) completed in 1998 and a Diploma of Population Health (2008).

 

When not at work, Wendy spends time visiting country friends and family and travelling. She also has a very artistic side, often used for face painting.

Chris Innes-Wong

Chris graduated in Adelaide as a physiotherapist in 2008. Throughout his studies (time permitting) he also played tennis professionally. However, after a season in Europe hampered by a troubling shoulder, he decided to retire and devote his energies to his physiotherapy career.

​

After graduating, Chris began work for Novita Children Services. In his 5 years with Novita, Chris developed a specialty in paediatrics and disability. 

​

Following Novita, Chris then took up a role with ECH – Aged Care Services.

Whilst working at Novita part-time, Chris was able to allow time for private practice work; and has experience in sporting injuries, workplace injuries and general musculoskeletal problems. 

He prefers a hands-on approach, but is also skilled in electrotherapy.

In his spare time, Chris sprints professionally and has competed in the Stawell Gift and Bay Sheffield Gift. Enjoying his new baby takes up much time but he still manages a heavy training schedule during the week with his athletics squad. His other interests include movies and surfing.

Cathy Heffernan

Peter Rowe Physiotherapist at Physio at

Peter graduated with a Physiotherapy degree at UniSA in 1986 and has worked in a wide range of fields within the physio realm, starting in country Whyalla and Port Augusta.

 

Subsequently, Peter would own and run his own practice in the Adelaide Hills, travel with sports teams, and become very involved in the Volleyball community in Adelaide SA, in both a coaching and physio capacity.


Peter enjoys the vibrant team at Grange, the delightful clientele and hands-on approach of the physio. Peter has never really been one for putting a machine on and walking away.

 

Peter enjoys problem-solving with clients, using exercises, trigger point therapy and corrective techniques to resolve pain.

Cathy graduated from SAIT (now UniSA) in 1987. She commenced her career at the QEH, where she worked in a variety of areas, consolidating her knowledge and skills.

 

She later moved into private practice and aged care where she has worked simultaneously in a part-time capacity for the past 30 years.

 

Cathy's professional interests are in treating neck and back pain and she is a very hands-on therapist. She has also had training in dry needling and uses electrotherapy modalities, exercise prescription and traction to complement her manual therapy skills.

 

Cathy enjoys spending time with her family and swimming.

Kanwarjeet Singh

Kanwarjeet Singh Physiotherapist at Phys

Kanwar graduated with his masters in physiotherapy from Queen Margaret University, UK in 2008. He then worked in the UK, Dubai, India and Australia.

 

Kanwa gained a wealth of experience from a variety of placements, including acute care hospitals, musculoskeletal and sports medicine clinics, aged care and private practice.

 

Kanwar's passion lies in the management of chronic conditions as well as acute musculoskeletal-related chronic pain and sports injuries. He is a strong advocate for a preventative and active approach to pain management through rehabilitation, strength and conditioning.

He is compassionate and appreciates working with people from all different walks of life.

Julie-Anne has been the face and voice of Physio@Grange since 2009.

 

She manages the clinic's front desk team and ensures all is running smoothly for our patients.

Caitlin Receptionist at Physio at Grange

Caitlin has been a part of the Physio@Grange reception team since 2016.

 

As well as working on the front desk, Caitlin has a Bachelor of Science (Nutrition) degree, following her passion for food and nutrition.

 

In her spare time, Caitlin enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband, Josh, and their German Short-Haired Pointer, Otis.

Claire

Claire’s involvement with Physio@Grange dates back to 1983 when she first booked in for a treatment.

 

Since then, a busy life raising 4 children, alongside working in the family business eventually led to Claire being asked to become part of the reception team in 2015.

 

She now juggles part-time work, whilst caring for her elderly parents, as well as regular play days with her first grandchild.

 

For relaxation, Claire enjoys beach walks with her English Spring Spaniel, yoga, and a good book or movie with a glass of wine.
